Valentine’s Day came early for Storyteller Children’s Center and 160 guests who attended the nonprofit’s 10th annual Lunch with Love event Feb. 13 at Rockwood Santa Barbara Woman’s Club.
Greg Gorga, Executive Director at the Maritime Museum, hosts Dr. Gabriella Garcia on the show 805 Focus. The show highlights local nonprofits in the area. Returning to where it started 35 years ago, Storyteller Children’s Center is beginning the process to add classrooms at Transition House for infants and toddlers.
Storyteller Children’s Center received $4,000 and was represented by Adrienne De Guevera. The program works with preschoolers and toddlers providing breakfast, lunch and a snack to families in need. Children in the program go on to be better prepared when they start school. The program provides meals and spends educational time with the children specifically targeting “food insecure” children.
Storyteller Children’s Center – To support the needs of 60-70 families of at-risk preschool children by funding the salary of an on-site family advocate, plus costs for office space, professional development, and operating a parent support group. (55,000)
